About STEDUS

STEDUS is a product of SenseTrix, a company with strong experience from fields of virtual- and augmented reality. Personnel of SenseTrix have been giving lectures over 14 years within academic and scientific insitutions and they have also been invited to give expert speeches around the world.

Short History - the need

During different development processes, it was seen that many fields lacked visual aid particularly when training or educating people. Also it was seen that when augmented- or virtual reality techniques were used with different fields, the students / trainees gained good learning results and felt learning was fun too. It also gave new possibilities to education that were not possible before. Thus there was a need for system like STEDUS.

Concept of STEDUS

To build AR-based educational applications requires expertise of AR. Thus it is difficult for educators to make them, even when there are tools for that. When ordered from a software company, it might become expensive and usually the ordering educator receives application for one specific use only. So due to lack of expertise, time and money it has been difficult to educators to start using AR-based applications for education even there are good results of their usage.

That is where STEDUS comes in: We make tailored AR-applications on demand. We do not charge extra for making such application, as the cost is included in the periodic license fee. Any tailored application we make goes also to pool of applications that can be used by any license owner. Due to our system, we can push the price low enough for institutes to gain access to large and growing number of AR-based educational tools with small investement for money or time. While we bring the technological expertiese, participating educators bring the educational expertise, to guarantee better educational perspective.
